November 14, 1952 – December 31, 2024
With deep heartache and sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Teresa Ann Gutierrez, affectionately known as "Terry." At the age of 72, Terry passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by her family and faith.
Born on November 14, 1952, in El Paso, Texas, Terry married the love of her life, Rudy Gutierrez, in 1983 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Their union was a testament to love, partnership, and faith, serving as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Terry lived a life rooted in deep faith, unwavering in her bold and fervent love for Jesus Christ. She shared this love generously with everyone she met, including the many nurses and doctors who cared for her during her courageous four-year battle with cancer.
Despite life’s challenges, Terry embodied resilience and grace. She had a unique ability to face adversity with unwavering positivity, often deflecting concern for herself by warmly asking, “Oh, I’m doing well—how are you?” even in the midst of her trials.
Her life was a rich tapestry of love, faith, and joy—a story that could fill volumes. In her, pain and suffering met a cheerful soul, one who radiated hope and peace as a true daughter of God.
Terry is survived by her devoted husband, Rudy Gutierrez; her daughters, Jennifer Miertschin and Hannah Sargent; her son-in-law, Mark Miertschin; and her cherished grandchildren, Lola, Moses, and Selah. She is also survived by her brothers, Richard Ulatoski (Anita) and Stanley Ulatoski. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Dolores Ulatoski.
