Teresea Ann Henry was born September 10, 1944, to Herman Benjamin Grayson and Mable Corrine Randolph-Grayson at their home on Bessie Street in Shreveport, Louisiana. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and regularly attended church at Midway Number 2 on Marion Street in Shreveport, LA. Growing up in a loving home with her parents and five sisters —Freddie Mae Jones, Bobbi Joyce Jones, June M. Nicholas, Delores Maxine Grayson, and Doris Lynn Grayson Johnson —there was never a dull moment.
She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Shreveport, LA in 1962. Soon after, she met and began developing a relationship with the man who would become her future husband. Then on January 3, 1963, she and Owesten Henry became one in holy matrimony and later welcomed two loving children, Cheryl Michea Henry-Brown and Terence Craig Henry. Owestin and Teresea later divorced. Teresea Ann Henry was a very creative woman. Her favorite color was purple, and she loved to cook, knit, sew, and watch tv-especially Law and Order. Her favorite flowers were tulips. In her later years, she became a certified home daycare provider and regularly cared for a host of young boys and girls at her home in Carrollton and then at her home in Dallas.
She leaves behind one living sister, Delores Maxine Grayson, two children, four grandchildren: Jecica Brown-Mitchell (38), Tearra Sherre Henry (30), Tabitha Adaline Henry (18), Trinity Ann Henry (18), three great-grandchildren: Joshua Lynn Roberts (20), Sebastian Alexander Mitchell (9), Noble Alexander-Hopps Mitchell (4), and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Although we are sad that we don’t have just one more moment to laugh with her, one more moment to tell her how much we love her, and just one more moment to share our lives with her, we are rejoicing that she is now present with our Heavenly Father for all eternity. We are grateful for the time we had, and we know that we will be with her again.
We would like to thank the extended family and friends who have supported our family during this difficult time.
