

Terry was born on November 29, 1936 in Ogden, Utah, the oldest child of Ralph and Beatrice (Kennedy) Calvert, and grew up in Wyoming.
He attended Cody High School in Cody, Wyoming and then attended Brigham Young University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. Shortly after graduating from BYU, Terry began a long career working in the chemical industry, thirty-five years of which were spent at Union Carbide Corporation.
Terry loved God, his family, good sports, and great music. He was married to Sarah Jane (Alexander) Calvert on September 17, 1960 and throughout their fifty-plus years of marriage, they welcomed six children, thirteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren into their lives with joy.
Terry was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in several lay positions, including as a full-time missionary in the New England States Mission and as Bishop of the Alief Ward.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sarah; his six children, Marc (and Suzanne) Calvert, Lynda (and Cort) McMurray, Debbie (and Mo) Niko, Erin Calvert, Stephen (and Celeste) Calvert, Shawn (and Mabel) Calvert; his thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and his two siblings, Mike (and Karen) Calvert of Hillsboro, Oregon and Susan Calvert of Willmar, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Arrangements are with Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Following a private internment, a memorial service will be held in Terry’s honor on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 602 Eldridge Road Sugar Land, Texas 77478.
