

Terry Lou Quinn, known and loved by many names throughout his life. TQ, Quinn, Sgt., Captain, Daddy, Grandpa Terry, GT, and Papaw, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, at the age of 77, surrounded by family at his daughter’s home in Cypress, TX.
Born on March 30, 1949, in Cincinnati, Terry was the son of Leo James Quinn and Irene Haffner, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Neil Quinn, Gloria Pasco, and Jerry Quinn. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Holmes.
Terry lived a life marked by courage, service, hard work, and deep love for his family. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Terry enlisted in June 1968 and faithfully served until his honorable discharge in May 1974 as a Sergeant. He served in the Vietnam War from December 1968 through March 1972, where he demonstrated extraordinary bravery and dedication to his country. His service was recognized with numerous honors, including the Purple Heart, the Combat Action Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with two stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, the Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with palm, the Rifle Marksman Badge, and Meritorious Mast. Terry remained deeply proud of his service as a Marine throughout his life.
Following his military service, Terry built a diverse and accomplished career, serving as a business manager, pilot, harbor master, marina manager, boat captain, and transportation security officer. In every role, he was known for his leadership, strong work ethic, and commitment to doing things the right way.
He was a proud member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and valued the camaraderie of fellow veterans.
Terry was a gifted handyman and craftsman who always had a project underway. He loved working with his hands, fixing things, building things, and making things better. He found joy on the water, loved boating, and was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds. He loved happy hour, a good story, and making people laugh. Terry had a gift for storytelling and a sense of humor that could light up a room.
More than anything, Terry was proud of his family. He was a loving father to his daughters, Sarah Perez and Anna Watts, and a cherished father-in-law to Cody Watts. He was a devoted grandfather to Austin, Gavin, Kameron, Dylan, Carson, Harley, Eli, and Hank, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.
Terry will be remembered for his generous heart, his willingness to help anyone in need, his strong moral compass, and his unwavering commitment to doing the right thing. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, service, and strength that will continue through the family and friends who knew and loved him.
