Thelma Lorene (Sanches) Smith, 80, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at home with her daughter Sharon and niece Tina by her bedside. Thelma was born in Teague, Texas, November 1, 1934 to Mike and Jewel Sanches. She was a surgical nurse for many years. She was a loving mother to her 4 daughters and 1 son, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, James Smith in 2005, daughter Rita Klotz in 2012 and brother, Bill Dodson in 2007. Survivors include her daughters, son, and sons-in-law: Sharon Smith of Houston, TX, Vickie & Allen Lee of Jacinto City, TX, Tempi & Jason Starks of League City, TX; her son James Michael Rasberry; her sisters & brothers-in-law: Shirley & Ricky Milligan of Houston, TX, Judy & Truman Hamby of Antlers, OK; brothers and sisters-in-law: Benny & Judy Sanches of Gadsden, AL, Herman Sanches, Harold & Deborah Sanches and Charlene & Claude Sanches of Corsicana, TX.
