Thelma Watson

Thelma graduated from Barbara Jordan High School, Class of 1987. Thelma enlisted in the Navy Reserve where she served several years. Thelma worked in the transportation industry over 10 years before deciding to become a stay-at-home mom.

Thelma married Derrick O. Watson, in which this union lasted 33 years until her death, raising two children, Marcus and Jasmine, together.

Thelma loved being around family, enjoying music, being the life of the party, and being there for the sick and the elderly. Thelma had a big heart when it came to kids and would often bring them home with her and raise them as her kids. Thelma loved her many horses and dogs.

On September 4, 2021, Thelma transitioned to be with the Lord after receiving her call.

Thelma leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted and loving husband Derrick O. Watson, Son; Marcus G. Watson, Daughter; Jasmine G. Watson, Sisters: Thomasine Hightower and Debra Williams, Brothers; Fred Hightower (Rina) and Ronald Gardner, Great Uncle; Steve Ross. A host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Freddie and Ora Milton, Granddaughter; Zomia Watson, Maternal Grandparents, and Paternal Grandparents, Sister; Helen Ann Kendall. Her pets: Misty (dog), Sara (horse), Jan (horse), and Jake (dog).
