Mary Theresa Devora (Cortez)

Mary Theresa Devora (Cortez), age 67, our precious loving mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend was called from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus on October 31, 2011. Our dear mother Theresa was born on March 22, 1944 and was a native Houstonian. Theresa is survived by her former husband, Joe Rodriguez, her three children, Joe Alfonso Rodriguez, Jr., Cecilia Rodriguez Graves, husband Gregory, Christopher Jonathan Segovia, wife Victoria. Grandchildren Tina Marie Rodriguez, Manuel Rodriguez, Sara C’ne Rodriguez, Jose Alfonso Rodriguez, III, Richard Rodriguez, Cristian Isaiah Rodriguez, Jennifer Courtney Graves, Porscha Sierra Segovia, and Ethan Rodriguez, great-grandson. Brothers Gilbert Cortez, wife Linda, Paul Cortez and sister Juanita Franco, husband Tony and sister in law, Sonia Cortez. She cared for her many cousins, nephews and nieces. Theresa was preceded in death by her son, Richard Rodriguez, father, Gilbert Cortez, Sr., mother, Cecilia Cortez Prentice and Brother, Frank Cortez. Theresa was known for her love of life, family, friends and business associates. She was a lifelong member of Christ the King Catholic Church and was retired from J.P. Morgan Chase Bank and was currently employed for 15 years by Fiesta Mart, Inc. as Advertising/Special Promotions Coordinator. Our mother lived with a passionate spirit, humble heart and loved and served others unconditionally. Her sweet and kind spirit will be carried in our hearts forever! We love you Mom!

Rosary Service: Monday, Nov. 7 at 7pm. Celebration of Life Service: Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 10 am. Reception following at Heights Villas, 3600 Michaux at 12 noon.
