

.Thomas Henry Cooper, born in Easterly, Texas on December 21, 1932, passed from this life January 11, 2017 at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Maudie Cooper, brothers Elvin Cooper Jr., Johnny Cooper, James Cooper, sisters Dorothy Cooper and Laura (Cooper) Fowler. He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Catherine (Vidal) Cooper, daughter Christy (Cooper) Chancy and husband Roy Chancy, son Michael Cooper and fiancé Christy Gonzalez, son Rudy Cooper and wife Alexandra Cooper. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Michael Cooper Jr., Miranda Cooper, Mariah Cooper, Madalina Cooper, Marisa Cooper, and Joshua Cooper, Corrina Fox and husband Travis Fox, and 3 great grandchildren, Sara (Leonard) Wilkins and husband Cameron Wilkins, Abigail Leonard, and Jack Fox, brothers Larry Cooper, Fred Cooper and wife Henrietta Cooper, Jerry Cooper and wife Pam Cooper, sisters Margie (Cooper) Fulks and husband Morris Fulks, Janie (Cooper) Taylor and husband Gene Taylor. He is also survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and long-time friends.
Tom was long time resident of Galena Park, 45 years. He was a member of Greens Bayou Church of Christ. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force. In 1996 he retired from GATX Terminals, but enjoyed running his own business, Varity Vending Machines until 2009. He also took on many projects around the house and enjoyed playing dominoes and Skip-Bo. One of his favorite pass times was mowing at his country home in Hillister, TX.
Tom always had a story to tell, from his experiences as a milkman, racecar driver, cotton picker, etc. Not to mention his jokes that you thought were real until you heard the punch line.
