Thomas Newman Kendall

Tom was a proud Texas Exes Alumni and graduated with a double major in Finance and Real Estate in the Class of ‘78. Tom married his high school sweetheart, Claudia, at St. Christopher’s Church in Houston on August 17, 1977. He is also survived by his son, Russell Charles, his wife Kathleen, and their two sons, Felix Leonard and Cecil Carlton, as well as his daughter Rachel Kendall Moede, her husband Ian, and their two children, Jackson Thomas and Corrigan Kendall.

Tom spent his career in financial services in commercial lending, asset management, and executive roles including COO of Goldman Sach's Real Estate Group within their merchant bank Asia division. Tom retired in 2006 and continued working in real estate as the broker and owner of Texas Capital Realty alongside his wife and daughter.

Endlessly caring for his family, exploring woodworking, creating masterpieces in the kitchen, studying his family’s connections to Texas history, and cheering for Texas Longhorn football were among his greatest passions.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents Frank Russell Kendall and Anne Armine Benson Kendall, his brother John and his sister Theodora, of Houston.

A visitation with the family for Thomas will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the rosary at 6:30 PM in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. A mass of christian burial will be Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston, Texas 77024. The family will gather for a private interment in Houston, Texas.
