Thomas Eugene Strunk

1956 – 2026

Thomas Eugene Strunk (Tom), 69, of Tomball, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, at his home in the Katy area.

Tom grew up in Houston, Texas, where he attended Spring Woods High School. He was happily married to his high school sweetheart, Sherry, for 49 years. Tom was a man of strong work ethic, serving as an Operator for ExxonMobil for over two decades until his retirement.

In his younger years, Tom enjoyed working on cars and had a strong passion for tools and woodworking. He loved coaching his two sons’ youth baseball and football teams and was deeply enthusiastic about his family. Tom cherished conversations with his sons, Robert and Jacob, about life and sports, and he was immensely proud of his daughters-in-law, Cassandra and Adrianna, and his three grandchildren, Maddison, Gerrit, and Trenton. He was an avid fan of the Houston Astros, the Houston Texans, and the Katy High School Tigers football team.

He was a supporter of Kingsland Baptist Church, Goodwill, and Katy Christian Ministries.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Sherry; his son Robert and wife Cassandra; his son Jacob and wife Adrianna; his three grandchildren, Maddison, Gerrit, and Trenton; his two brothers, Howard and Paul; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Elizabeth Strunk.

SERVICE INFORMATION

A visitation will take place on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. A funeral service celebrating Tom’s life will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Graveside services will immediately follow the funeral.

He loved his family deeply and made sure everyone always felt loved, appreciated, and heard. He meant so much to our family, and we are incredibly grateful for the love, memories, and support he shared throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
