On the morning of May 13, as the sun began to rise, Tina Nguyen, 59, passed away peacefully with her husband, Peter, and two daughters, Rachel and Janie, by her side. She was surrounded by the love of family and friends who remained with her in prayer until the end. Tina will be remembered for her steadfast faith, quiet strength, and devotion to her family.
Born in Saigon in August 1967, Tina was the ninth of 14 siblings. In 1981, she and her sister, Thu, were the first in their family to come to America and eventually settled in San Jose, California. Tina became the first in her family to graduate from college and went on to build a career as an accountant, where she was known for her diligence and careful attention to detail.
Tina’s life centered on faith and family. A vegetarian for more than 32 years, she found joy in prayer, preparing delicious vegan meals, and relaxing by the ocean. She loved spending time with her husband, daughters, sisters, and extended family, whether traveling or enjoying simple pleasures such as walks, hikes, game nights, boba tea, and movies with her husband. These are among the moments her family and friends will remember most.
Above all, Tina will be remembered for her kindness, strength of character, and unwavering love for her family.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 31 years, Peter Nguyen, and their two daughters, Rachel Nguyen (Devin) and Janie Nguyen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nguyễn Văn Tám and Nguyễn Thị Thắm.
A prayer service for Tina will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by visitation from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park.
