

On Sunday, May 29, 2022, Tito D. Lamas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, was called to his heavenly father at the age of 82 after battling cancer. He was born and raised in (5th ward) Houston, Texas to Antonio & Rosa D. Lamas on December 28,1939.
Tito met his beautiful wife Stella C. Lamas 1949 while playing on a tire swing. Tito and Stella also went to school together and were married in 1970. They started their family in 1971 with the birth of their first daughter Alexandra Angelic Lamas, and then expanded the family with the birth of their second daughter, Henrietta L. Jones. They moved to N. Houston in1970, while working for Schumacher Co Inc., driving for the largest chrome plating company in Houston. When Tito was not behind the wheel, his time was spent with his family and friends.
Tito was generous and ready to give without hesitation. Tito did not need fancy things; he was a simple man who believed in being there for his family and friends. Tito was the first to call when you needed help, and he would be there in a snap to complete any job needed with integrity and fidelity. He worked hard, and Tito knew the meaning of a hard day's work and devoted countless hours becoming the best at everything.
Most of all, he loved his wife, his children, grandchildren immensely and was loved and adored by all. Tito believed in the importance of tradition and always put family first. He was loyal, proud and his goal was to be the best husband, father and Papi he could be. His children and grandchildren were blessed beyond measure to have someone like Tito in their corner. He loved more than one would think possible, and his family always knew how proud he was and how much they were loved.
Tito was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Lamas, mother, Rosa D. Lamas, and siblings: Phillip, Antonio, Alonzo, Catherine, Benny, Henry, Hector, Alfred, and Rosa L. Amar, sons Ralph Marquez and Rudy Marquez. Tito leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Stella C. Lamas; one son, Johnny Marquez, daughters Alexandra A. Lamas and Henrietta L. Jones, daughter in law Zola O. Marquez, 6 grandchildren, Ralph Marquez, Gabriel Marquez, Nicholas Marquez, Alicia Marquez, brother Poncho Lamas, Leonarda Valdez and many nieces and nephews.
