Tommy Bon Wong Ng, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away in peace for his eternal rest after 95 years of a wonderful life. Born in Toishan, Guangdong (Canton), China, Tommy immigrated to the United States when he was a young man. He first lived in San Francisco, then moved to Austin, then finally settled in Houston. He was a partner in two family owned neighborhood grocery stores, Garden Food Center and May Food Market. Physically active well into his 90’s, he loved mowing his lawn, taking care of his garden, and reading his daily newspaper and news magazines. He discovered the Houston sports scene during the Houston Oilers Luv Ya Blue era and then developed a following for the Astros, Rockets, and Texans.
He is survived by his wife, “Grace” Yuk To Fong Ng, his sons, Raymond, James, and Harry and their wives Linda, Liza, and Jodi respectively, as well as his five grand children, Michael, Samantha, Emily, Carson, and Logan.
Visitation will be on July 26 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Forest Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer, Houston, TX. Funeral services will be held on July 27, 2019 at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Tommy Ng to Chinese Baptist Church, American Diabetes Association, or American Heart Association.
