

Toshiko Takashima, 74, passed away on January 16, 2013 in Houston, Texas. Toshiko was born on February 10, 1938 in Japan to Teruyoshi and Masako Uchijima. She married and Jiro Takashima have been married for 50 years and he survives. She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She joined her husband in expanding the family home in 1988 and founding the family business in 1997.
Toshiko was a long time resident of Houston and an avid Oilers and Rockets fan circa 1986 . She loved family vacations, especially fishing trips to Galveston. She enjoyed parties, staying up late to watch action and horror films, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her delicious cooking, her incomparable green thumb, and her perseverance.
Visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home in Houston on January 27, 2013 at 10:00 – 11:00 am. Memorial Service will be held at Brookside Funeral Home on January 27, 2013 at 11:00 am.
In addition to her husband, Toshiko is survived by her sister Eiko; brothers Hiroshi and Makoto; daughter Kyoko Komatsu and her husband Takayuki; son Masayoshi Takashima and his wife Myrenda; daughter Amy Sung and her husband Andrew; and six grandchildren Erica, Ayaka, Genki, Ailey, Stella, and Mika.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the friends and doctor, nurses and therapists that had helped in her continued recovery.
