Losing a family member or friend is always hard but when it’s your only son or brother, it’s unimaginable. It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother, Travis James Quick. Travis, 35, was born March 6, 1985 in Houston, Texas, to Jimmy and Teri Quick. He became a big brother at the age of 5 and took pride in his role as protector and friend to his beloved little sister Amber Quick Brown.
Travis graduated from Cypress Falls High School in 2004 where he played for the Cy-Falls Golden Eagles Baseball & Football team. He was a project manager at Sprint Safety for 15 years.
Travis was a loving uncle and enjoyed spending time with his nephew Clayton. He loved life, his family, and friends. He was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman, and he especially enjoyed watching his Houston Astros!
In addition to his parents and sister, Travis is survived by his brother-in-law, Bradley Brown, nephew, Clayton Brown, grandmother Ramona Quick, and grandfather Gene Love along with numerous relatives and friends.
Serving as Pallbearers are Travis Alford, Michael Downing, Todd Roznovsky, Joshua Hanberry, Shane Lipham, and Joey Allen.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, a private service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy. Houston, Texas 77079. Guests are welcome to pay their respects at the graveside burial at 4:00pm. We are asking friends & family to wear Astro’s gear to support Travis’s favorite team. A celebration of Travis’s life will be held at the Hearthstone Country Club, 7615 Ameswood Road, Houston, TX 77095 at 6:00pm.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that you make a donation in his honor to the Sunshine Kids and Albert’s Dog Lounge Rescue. This past summer Travis volunteered with his dad at Albert’s Dog Lounge and enjoyed helping senior dogs find their forever home. The Sunshine Kids Foundation adds quality of life to children with cancer by providing them with exciting, positive group activities, so they may once again do what kids are meant to do. . . have fun and celebrate life. Please help us celebrate Travis’s life by paying it forward!
Rest in Peace, Dear Son. We love you and always will.
