Tony and Liz, I recently heard of your son's passing and I am so sorry for your loss.  Liz, your Mom mentioned his passing to my sister, Gina, so she shared the information with me. I am so sorry for your loss and I’m heartbroken for you.

Troy was one of my greatest and dearest friends. I remember first being introduced to him in Jake’s garage in Bear Creek and seeing him with his long hair, big ol’ beanie, and aloof/slightly mysterious demeanor..I was kind of intimidated. Little did I know what an amazing, kind-hearted, extremely thoughtful person had been brought into my life in that moment. Over the past 16 years we developed a friendship that I cherished.

Troy was FUNNY. And not just a regular funny, but SO quick to say something that would have you cackling. His accents, impressions, and vocal tics were the best. He had me in tears from laughing on so many occasions. Sent me videos that we’d screenshot the best parts and laugh about. We’d go back and forth trying to out-funny the other, but he often won. To think of never being able to hear his iconic, ridiculous laugh again is devastating. 

But beyond all of his humor was someone so deep. So introspective and thoughtful. You could come to him with anything and he would make you feel like everything was going to be okay. He always checked in on me. Always listened to whatever I had to say and reassured me that things weren’t that serious. He had an ability to make people feel seen. He was quick to tell you he loved you. 

He was also not afraid to speak his honest thoughts, but that was one of the best things about him. He was a real and genuine person who I knew would tell me what I needed to hear. I will forever miss that.

A world without Troyboy, Troylanda, my BBT - it doesn’t feel right. More than anything, I wish he could see the lasting impact he made on so many people. 

No words can sum him up, so I just want to take this moment to say thank you to my friend. Thank you for being exactly who you are. I’m so grateful to have been in your orbit. There will never be another like you. I miss you and love you so much. 

To his family - thank you for bringing Troy into the world. My family and I are holding you close in our thoughts.

My Dear Troy, I still can't believe that you're not here.  You brought so much love, light and warmth into my life and it's hard to imagine life without you. You were such a gentle soul, kind, thoughtful but tough when needed.  You were my ray of sunshine.  

I will miss your silly sense of humor, the crazy memes and videos you'd send me and then call me & we just laughed.  I'll miss our Tuesday dinner/movie nights. I will miss sending my art work for your advice, even then you were always honest but knew how to critique my art without hurting my feelings or discouraging me.   You somehow seemed to find the good, even on the hardest day,  and reassured/reminded  the rest of us that all would be ok. You had a heart so full of kindness and giving , always there for me and others in the most genuine way, a great listener but also stood strong on your beliefs and values. You were always YOU.  

When I close my eyes, I see you sitting next to me, telling me "it's going to be okay Mom" and giving me a tight squeeze. You'd want us to remember the moments of laughter and love. So, as we come together to honor you, I find solace in knowing that your spirit lives on in every one of us.  I know you are watching over us with that gentle smile, nudging us to keep moving forward.  I promise I will always carry you in my heart.

You were a gift from God and now I return you to Him and pray He gives you eternal rest and his everlasting light shine upon you. Rest in Peace, my beautiful Son.

Troy was one of my best friends, and he helped shape the person I am today. So many of the things I love—music, art, movies—came into my life because of him. We spent countless nights talking about everything from the serious to the silly, and those moments are among the ones I treasure most.

He was one of the greatest people I have ever known, and I will miss him every single day.

There’s a song Troy and I used to listen to, and one line from it has always stayed with me: “To my brothers who have fallen before me, I will walk with you again.” It captures how I feel, and reminds me that the bond we shared doesn’t end here.

To Troy’s family, my heart is with you. I hope you find comfort in knowing how deeply he was loved, how profoundly he shaped those around him, and how his memory will live on in all of us who were lucky enough to know him.

Son just last Tuesday November 11th we met up for dinner, you had your crab legs and we had a great time and conversation. God blessed me to have you as a son and the time I was able to have shared with you. The only comfort I currently have now is that I know you are with Jesus Christ , where you have peace and eternal life and I know that we will see each other in the future.  Love you Son from Dad.

Me, Chandra, and Troy called eachother the “be do” crew. A silly typo on social media that led to us three having an inside joke forever. And it will forever be our names to eachother.

I constantly have wacky ideas when bartending. Troy never said no to any of them. This is us at a 90s themed pop up I came up with at Poison Girl Bar.

I first met Troy through the bar we both worked at downtown. We also have worked together at many other bars together. He immediately became a best friend not just a coworker. This is all of us downtown for my birthday.

My dear friend,  May you feel God's comfort surrounding you in the unimaginable time.  Troy's light & love will forever shine within you.  I am praying for your strength and peace.  I am always here for whatever you may need.  We Love you.
