Velma Smith

Velma Smith passed away on April 12, 2018. She was born on August 26, 1937 in Beaumont, Texas to parents Mary and Clemmy McClendon. Velma was preceded in death by her loving parents; loving husband James Smith; two daughters, Mary Smith, Betty Davis; two sons, Roy Smith, Wayne Smith; two sisters, Jeanette Moore, Thelma Bolton; brother, Fred McClendon; and daughter-in-law, Marzella Smith. She is survived by her three daughters, Margaret Gatling and husband Charles, Gloriann Smith, Alice Mills and husband Bobby; son, John Roy Smith; four brothers, Johnny McClendon, Robert McClendon, James McClendon, Buddy McClendon; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as a host of friends and other family members.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm; a funeral service on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home; with a burial to follow at Brookside Memorial Park and Cemetery, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
