

Vernon L. Mikolajczyk, was born July 17, 1932 on a hot summer day in Bebe, TX. He passed away March 5, 2012 after complications from his second battle with throat cancer. As a young man, Vernon started his truck driving career hauling cattle then spent the rest of his 40 year career hauling chemicals across the US and Canada. He always had a story to tell about these days and never got trucking out of his system. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sophie Mikolajczyk; sisters Evelyn Raska and Frances Mikolajczyk and his brother Ervin Mikolajczyk. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of 59 years; his daughter, Karen Moody; his two sisters, Shirley Parr and husband Ray of Goliad and Pat Walley of New Braunfels. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends he has made through the years.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2012, from 5:00pm until 9:00pm, in the Stateroom at the Hunters Creek Chapel of Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2012, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 pm at Hubbard Funeral Home in Weimar, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 9, 2012, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 103 E. North St., Weimar, Texas 78962. Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, in Weimar, Texas.
The family also wants to thank the doctors and nursing staff of Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital and Select Specialty Hospital in the Heights, for their dedication and care of our loved one.
