Vicki Conelius Lee

Vicki Denise Cornelius Lee, or more affectionately known as Mama Lee by her 6 grandchildren, went home to The Lord on Wednesday, January 8th 2014. She was born January 7th, 1951, in Houston, Texas. Vicki’s story is one of incredible courage, unwavering faith and unparalleled love. While teaching middle school math she met and married Danny Edward Lee in 1977 who would be the love of her life. While they were married for 37 years they raised three daughters in the Katy area. In 1999, Vicki defied tough odds despite a very bleak initial prognosis of cancer. Her lifetime of faith prepared her to enter this battle with the armor of God surrounding her. She was an unstoppable force of joy, faith, perseverance and determination. Those who were in her company may never have known she was in the fight for her life as she made others a priority in every moment.

Mama Lee was a caring, loving, selfless woman who made all around her feel loved, comfortable, welcome, and special. Her life was built on her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. That assurance gave her the strength to continue as wife & mother as she waged her own private battle for the next 15 years. In those years that followed she was blessed to see Danielle, Jennifer, & Jacquelyn graduate from college, marry Godly men, and begin the next generation of her legacy with 6 grandchildren.

Mama Lee is survived by her husband, Danny, daughters Danielle Mansour, Jennifer Gafford and Jacquelyn Colley, mother Grace Cornelius, sister Kathy Parker, grandchildren Cole, Cade and Brooke Mansour, Emersyn and Ensley Gafford and Juliette Grace Colley, and sons-in-laws Alfred Mansour, Thomas Gafford and Carey Colley.

A celebration of Vicki’s life will be held on Saturday, January 11th at Second Baptist, West Campus located at 19449 Katy Freeway at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Living Water International.
