

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Victor C. Villarreal, who departed this life on June 2, 2025, at the age of 67. A lifelong Houstonian, Victor was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who touched countless lives with his kindness, dedication, and vibrant spirit.
Born on July 8, 1957, in Houston, Texas, Victor was the son of Victor and Margarita Villarreal. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and went on to earn a degree in Biology from the University of Houston and a Nursing Degree from San Jacinto College. His passion for helping others led him to a career in healthcare and education. He worked as a nurse at Methodist Hospital and later served as the Assistant Dean of International Admissions at his alma mater, the University of Houston for 25 years.
Following his retirement, Victor remained an active community member, devoting time to the Magnolia Park Civic Associations, where he continued his lifelong commitment to service.
Victor’s love for culture and tradition shone brightly through his passion for ballet folklórico. As a proud member of Grupo Aztlan, he performed and competed in numerous events, always bringing grace, pride, and joy to the stage.
Victor is survived by his mother, Margarita Villarreal; his brother and sister-in-law, Carlos and Antonia Villarreal; his sister, Mary Jane Reyes, brother-in-law and sister Fritz and Brenda Pawelka, and brother-in-law and sister Richard and Sandra Hormiga. He also leaves behind his beloved nephews: Robert Reyes, Patrick Reyes, Ryan Reyes, Carlos T. Villarreal, Christopher Villarreal, Fritz W. Pawelka, and Fritz Erich Pawelka; nieces: Andreina Villarreal and Lauren Hormiga; great-nieces: Lyla Villarreal and Marabella Pawelka; and great-nephew: Luke Villarreal.
He was preceded in death by his father, Victor Villarreal.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel located at 4136 Broadway.
The funeral service will take place on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., followed by interment at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Angels at Forest Park located at 6900 Lawndale St.
Victor’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
