April 03 1943 - December 14 2024 Viola Yung Kim, 81, loving mother passed away on December 14, 2024 in Houston, TX surrounded by her family. Viola was born on April 3, 1943, in Seoul, South Korea. She attended grade school in South Korea and graduated with the equivalent of a bachelor degree from Chun Chun University. Viola chose the nursing profession and dedicated numerous years in this profession and married the love of her life, Winston. They then moved to the United States to start a new and more prosperous life. After moving to the state of Georgia, Viola began her career in the United States as a nurse. She spent over a decade as a nurse and then as a business owner running an office restaurant. She finally moved on to administration at her husband’s commercial plumbing business. She ran the business aspects of this successful business for 30 years until retiring in 2007. She is survived by her son, Gregory Chul Kim, daughter-in-law, Amanda of Houston, TX, two grandchildren Meredith (15) and Maeleigh Kim (12). She was preceded in death by her husband, Winston Hun Kim, and daughter, Stephanie Jiyeon Kim. Viola was a devoted family member, who enjoyed gardening in her home in Fulshear, TX, and spending time with her family. Private services will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home where she will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or a charity of your choice.
