Allen Ripley, age 78, of Magnolia, Texas passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at home with assistance from Gentiva Hospice. He was born September 21, 1946 in Mobile, Alabama, son of Carol Smith Taylor.
He was retired from O.W.S.I after 44 years of dedicated service.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Smith Taylor of Houston, Texas; sisters, Freida Cole of Atkins, Arkansas, Debra Pitts of Frederick, Oklahoma; brothers, Comer Taylor of Albertville, Alabama, Donald Taylor of Morrillton, Arkansas, Clyde Taylor of Cold Springs, Texas; and nephew, Michael "Moose" Howell of Morrillton, Arkansas.
His memory will be cherished by those who survive him, his wife of 56 years, Deborah Ripley; daughter, Crystal Berel and husband Joe of Trinity, Texas; granddaughter, Bailey Berel, Kayce Weimer & Jordon of Splendora, Texas ; grandson, Dalton Berel, Ashley, & Cooper; sister, Rita Howell & husband Michael of Morrillton, Arkansas, Jimmy Taylor of Van Buren, Arkansas, Will Taylor of Waco, Texas; nephew, Bobby Taylor of Cold Springs, Texas; niece, Misty Taylor of Cold Springs, Texas; and great niece, Tiffany Taylor of Cold Springs, Texas.
A visitation for Virgil will be held Monday, September 8, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, with a committal service to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are Austin Verm, Joe Verm, Jordon Lunsford, Michael Silvio, Kenneth Moore, Dalton Berel, and Jimmy Taylor; with Roger Cresci, Turk Epps, Blake Bihm, Ken Islet, Kayce Dukin Weimer and Cooper Allen Berel serving as honorary pallbearers.
