He was born November 5, 1936 in Paris, Texas; the son of John and Vernie Worthey. .
He lived in Houston, Texas and was proudly employed by FMC and Action Handling for many years. In addition, he served as the Worshipful Master and member of the Woodland Masonic Lodge #1157.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Betty Ann Worthey; his second wife Mardell Worthey; sisters: Ruby Miller, Irma Felts, Bessie Heath, Agnes Utz, and Ruth Beach; brothers: Melvin Worthey and Jesse Worthey.
Many are left to cherish his memory. He was a loving father and is survived by his sons, William “Dennis” McDonald and his wife Debbi McDonald, Dwain Worthey and his wife Pam Worthey, daughter Sharon Worthey, sister Mary Thomas.
He was the proud grandfather to Bryant McDonald, Aaron McDonald, Melissa Maxwell, Destiny Worthey, Misty Herndon, Dwain Worthey Jr. and others. He was also an uncle and had many cherished great- grandchildren.
He was an amazing man, who laughed and joked, and enjoyed life to the fullest, and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are: Allen Thomas, Bryant McDonald, Aaron McDonald, Jason Winters, Paul Lobello, and David Blesdoe; honorary Les Dalme.
Funeral services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas, on Saturday, June 6, 2020 with viewing at 10 a.m., chapel service at 10:30 a.m., and graveside to follow.
