Virginia Malone Villareal of Houston, TX passed away peacefully Monday, May 8, 2023, a few weeks shy of her 99th birthday, at the age of 98 at home surrounded by family. Virginia was born May 21, 1924 in Bertram, Texas, to Jesus and Seferina Malone.
Virginia, affectionately regarded as “Granny” by friends and family was like a Granny to everyone. Vibrant and witty, with a sharp sense of humor, Granny had an incredible zest for life and genuine love for others. Granny lived the last five-in-a-half years of her life to the fullest with her Granddaughter Valerie and husband Trey, experiencing the best of life with many exciting first-time adventures.
Granny is loved and cherished by many. Until we meet again, we will forever treasure the wonderful memories we have of her warmth, love, kindness, spunky spirit and beautiful smile.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her only living sibling: Estella Hurtado, 5 grandchildren: Valerie Villareal, Larissa Cortez, Joseph, Justin, & Caleb Villareal, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years: Severo Villareal, 3 sons: Danny Dorantes, Eddie & Severo Villareal, Jr., 2 grandchildren: Matthew and Evelyn Dorantes, and 7 siblings: Jose, Abel, Thomas, Jesse, Geneva, Beatrice, and Samuel Malone.
Services will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Hou., TX 77038 (281) 445-0050. Visitation: Thursday, May 18th from 4-8p. Funeral Service: Friday, May 19th at 9:30a. Internment will follow at the Houston National Cemetery.
