

On July 12th, 1958, in Houston, Texas Vivian Joyce McKensie was born to Barbara McKensie (nee White) and James McKensie, Sr. She was baptized at an early age at Friendship Baptist Church. She graduated from MacArthur High School. She went on to marry the love of her life, Rickey Ladet and have two children, Rickey Jr., and Keisha. After spending some time as a stay-at-home-mom, she began her college career at University of Houston-Clear Lake to pursue a degree in accounting.
Vivian Ladet was a devoted mother and wife, known for her boundless love and unwavering support for her family. Her nurturing spirit and selfless dedication enriched the lives of those closest to her. Her memory will forever remain a source of strength and inspiration for all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Vivian Ladet was not only a loving mother and wife, but also a dedicated and hardworking revenue accountant with over 30 years of experience. Her commitment to her profession was evident in her meticulous attention to detail and tireless work ethic. She leaves behind a legacy of excellence and integrity in her field, and her contributions will be remembered and valued by all her work colleagues.
Vivian’s dedication to her family and her career defined her life, as she tirelessly balanced her professional responsibilities with her deep affection for her loved ones. Her warmth and kindness extended not only to her immediate family, but also to her extended family and friends, touching the lives of all who knew her. Vivian’s legacy of love, perseverance, and commitment will forever be cherished by those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
She was preceded in death by her father, James McKensie Sr., her mother, Barbara Walker (nee White), her stepfather Johnnie Walker Sr., her brother, James McKensie Jr., her sister, Johnnie Evelyn Wilmore.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, the love of her life, Rickey Ladet Sr. and her two children, Rickey Ladet Jr. and Keisha Hudson (nee Ladet), and her son-in-law Timothy Hudson; her siblings: Marilyn Chester and family, Jeanetta Spencer and family, Johnathon Walker and family, Patrice Jones and family, Johnnie Walker Jr. and family, Mildred Phillips and family; Dawn McKensie and family; her grandchildren Brooke Hudson (affectionately known as “Brookie the Cookie”) and Hunter Hudson (affectionately known as “Big Boy”). She also leaves a host of cousins, aunts uncles, and other family members to mourn her passing.
A visitation for Vivian will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A burial committal will occur Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Brookside Memorial Park.
