Max was born on September 28, 1982 to Walt Mischer, Jr. and Leila Winters Mischer. Max was the husband of an adoring wife, Sarah, as well as the proud father of two beautiful daughters, Molly and Mary Campbell. He was brother to two devoted younger sisters, Lawson and Morgan. He was a "lifer" at The Kinkaid School, where he was a state champion wrestler, graduating in 2001. He continued his education at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, where he completed a degree in business.
Following college, Max became a member of the ski patrol at Steamboat Springs Resort. He then returned to Houston earning an MBA from the Jones School of Business at Rice University. Max became Vice President of Mischer Investments, focusing on management of marketable securities, real estate and ranching operations. Outside of work, Max was actively engaged on the board of the Holocaust Museum and the board committee of the Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital, co-chairing their 2015 gala, in partnership with his wife, Sarah.
Above all, Max's greatest love was for his family and friends. As an absolutely adoring husband, father, son, brother, and friend, he led the charge on our greatest joys and adventures. He lived his life to the fullest and in the process freed us to do the same. Today and always, we remember his giant bear hugs, his bright smile, his infectious laugh, his free spirit, and his most caring and radiant love for us all.
Max packed his and our years full of life, for which we are immeasurably grateful. We feel and celebrate him more than ever in the simplest, yet most magnificent things he treasured – in the grandeur of the mountains, the freedom of the ranch, the exhilaration of achievement and the joy of each other. We love and honor him forever.
Max is survived by his wife, Sarah Mischer, and their daughters, Molly and Mary Campbell; his parents, Walt and Leila Mischer; his grandparents, Mary Mischer and Sam Winters; his sisters, Lawson Mischer and Morgan Warth, as well as Morgan's husband, Lucas, and their son, Tate. He is also survived by his aunt, Paula Mischer, and his cousins, Candace Corson, Robert and Olivia Corson, Randall and Jodi Corson, and Duncan Watson. Max was preceded in death by his grandfather, Walter Max Mischer, Sr., his grandmother, Dorothy Rushing Winters, and his aunt, Jane Rushing Winters.
