Wanda Muriel Nobles, 85, of Houston, Texas was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 22, 2013. She is survived by her son, Ron Nobles of Arlington Heights, IL; "Stormy" Vicki Josten of Wasilla, AK; three grandchildren, Dustin Nobles Lindsey, Katherine Nobles, and Anne Nobles; and one great-grandson, Wil Nobles. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Wilfred Franklin Nobles.
Wanda was born in Waco, Texas on September 23, 1928, where she grew up and graduated from Waco High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Wil Nobles. With her husband's career in the oil industry, together they traveled the world, also living in Australia, and Bermuda.
She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a fantastic home maker, and a true friend to all that knew her.
She was known by all as "the sweetest woman you will ever meet." She was kind to everyone, always greeting them with a smile, and genuinely wanted to know how they were doing, including their families. She was generous to a fault, and took great joy in surprising her family and friends with gifts. She had a special place in her heart for "the children of the world," regularly making donations to organizations such as Operation Smile, Doctors Without Borders, Feed the Children and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Monday, December 2, 2013 in the mausoleum chapel of Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 1300 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to one of the charitable organizations noted above.
