

Born on the 3rd of November 1924 to Finis William and Iona Lotus Russell, he was raised in Winnsboro, Texas, and was a resident of Houston for over 60 years. Waymon was a member of the Coast Guard in WWII, founded Russell Electric Company and was a co-founder of Inland Electric. After retirement, he volunteered at TIRR for many years.
Waymon is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ethelyn “Judy” Russell; his children: Richard Louis Russell and wife Julie, Holly Moore Kastleman and husband Jim, Mark Dwayne Russell and wife Katie; and by his grandchildren: Justin Russell, Travis Russell, Kayla Russell, Nicholas Russell, Ben Kastleman and Olivia Kastleman, all of Houston. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Schiller of Freeport, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his parents, and by his brother, the late Bill Russell.
The family desires to acknowledge the loving care provided by the doctors and nurses at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, and to express their thanks to the pals, nurses, and caring team at Belmont Village.
In accordance to his wishes, Waymon will be cremated, and the family is to gather for a private service of remembrance.
