William Paul Barnard, (Bill), died peacefully at home on April 18, 2015. He was born on January 9, 1923 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to William Ward and Gladys Opal Barnard. He served in the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant during World War II and was promoted to Captain upon discharge. During the war he met and later married the love of his life, Doris Hardzog, on August 18, 1945. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce in 1947. He and Doris moved to Houston in 1955 and began his career with General Crude Oil Company, where he was Vice President of Finance and Administration until his retirement in 1980. While at General Crude he had the opportunity to attend Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Training Program. In retirement, he served on the board of Memorial Hospital Southwest, currently Herman Memorial Southwest.
Bill was a lifelong Christian and was a long- standing member of Willow Meadows Baptist Church and the Cornerstone Bible Class.
Bill was a kind and gentle man with a keen sense of humor. He was a loving husband to his wife Doris and a doting father to his sons Michael and Wayne; grandsons, Will and Tyler; and great granddaughter, Olive. His family will miss him dearly but we will carry him in our hearts forever.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris; and sister, Virginia Richmond. He is survived by his sons, Michael and Wayne; daughter-in-law, Kim; grandsons, Will and wife Sara, and Tyler; and great granddaughter, Olive.
The family wishes to thank Care Temps for their loving care of Bill, especially Michael Liku, Alvin Cole Jr., and Carolyn Johnson.

Private interment will be observed by the family, at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, following the services.
