William “Bill” Hunter Hott, age 76, of Tomball, Texas, passed away on March 23, 2026. Born January 10, 1950, in Winchester, Virginia, Bill was a beloved son, father, grandfather and friend. Devoted and kind-hearted, his life left a lasting imprint on all who knew him.
Bill moved to Florida when he was 10 and later graduated from Clearwater High School. He attended Florida State briefly before transferring to Houston for work at Foley's. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston at Clear Lake City.
Bill built a career in sales within the oil and gas industry, working with Hydril and Automatic Power. Through his work and relationships, he was known as someone people could count on—steady, personable, and committed.
Bill found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. As a child, he enjoyed Saturday donuts on the beach with his parents —small traditions that became cherished memories. In adulthood, Bill loved watching his grandsons’ baseball, soccer and football games, where he was always their biggest supporter. When he wasn’t attending his grandchildren’s sports, Saturdays in the fall were often spent watching college football.
Known for his quick wit, Bill never missed an opportunity to share one of his signature dad jokes, bringing laughter and warmth to everyone around him.
Nothing brought him more pride than his children and grandchildren. Bill leaves behind a legacy of love in his children, Hunter Thomas Hott and wife, Veronica, Channing Hott Solomon and husband, Matt; his grandchildren, Hunter Thomas Hott II, Cooper James Hott, Parker Robert Solomon, and Reid Thomas Solomon.
Bill cherished his relationships with Kristin Dvorak, Justin Dvorak and wife, Lauren, and Janae Salathiel.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved parents, George Hunter Hott and Gene Boltz Hott. Gene passed just hours prior to Bill; their close and loving bond makes this timing a reflection of the deep connection they shared in life. They undoubtedly walked through the Pearly Gates of Heaven to meet Jesus together.
Visitation will be held on April 2, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm and Celebration of Life will follow from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Brookside Funeral Home - Champions, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Houston Methodist and MD Anderson Staff.
