William Harold O'Neal

William "Bill" Harold O'Neal, 73, born August 7, 1940 entered into eternal rest October 6, 2013. Bill is preceded in death by his parents: Gertrude M. & Hubert R. O'Neal. Bill was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He worked at a young age at the Yale Drugstore making sodas and delivering prescriptions on his bicycle in the Heights. He always had a love for cars and enjoyed working on the race cars with family and friends. He adored his wife of 50 years and the life they shared. Whether you called him "Bill", "Babe", "Dad", or " Poppy" to 10 grandkids with one granddaughter and nine grandsons gave him many great memories. From the beginning his granddaughter, Caitlin had him wrapped around her finger. He loved being able to enjoy Aggie football games with her and talk about her future plans. Bill loved watching the grandkids football, baseball and basketball games and felt so lucky to have enough grandsons to make a whole team. Poppy was their biggest fan and was always in the front row watching and cheering. There was never a doubt when he was in the stands as you could always hear him cheering louder than everyone else. Bill was full of life and would want us to remember him as someone who worked hard and loved his family. Above all the one thing that helps us today is that he was and will always be a child of God. He is waiting for his wife, family and friends who also know the Lord Jesus Christ. God's grace gives us the assurance that one day we will be reunited with him. His family is so proud and blessed to have had him in our lives. Our hearts are broken and we will miss him so much. Left to cherish his precious memoreis: loving wife of 50 years, Joyce O'Neal; daughters: Stacy Ballard & husband John, Kelly Calvetti & husband Jim; son, Brian O'Neal & wife Mindy; brother, Robert O'Neal, Jr.; sister, Beverly O'Neal; grandchildren: Caitlin Ballard, Beau Ballard, Jakob Ballard, Zachary Ballard, Kyle Calvetti, Dylan Calvetti, Cody Calvetti, Garrett O'Neal, Mitchell O'Neal, Nicholas O'Neal. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 9th from 5-8pm. Funeral Services will be held at 1pm, Thursday, October 10th at the Grand Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
