

Willie Ruth Wright, born July 4th, 1919, passed away quietly in her sleep June 3rd, 2016 at the age of 96. Ruth was born in Mingus, Texas to Claude Graves Loflin and Mary McMahon Loflin. Ruth grew up and attended school in Ranger, Texas and graduated from Mingus High School. Upon graduation Ruth moved to Dallas, Texas to live with her aunt. In 1941 Ruth joined the Women's Army Auxiliary Corp, training in De Moines, Iowa and served in Florida and Pennsylvania.
Ruth returned to Dallas in 1943. Upon her return she went to work for North American Aviation. While at North American, she met a dashing young Naval Officer William W. (Bill) Wright while he was on leave. When Bill returned from serving in World War II, they were married on July 20th, 1946. Ruth and Bill built their home in Dallas where Bill worked at Oilwell Supply Company. In 1963, Bill was transferred to Houston, Ruth joined him shortly thereafter, in 1965 after their son David graduated from High School. After moving to Houston, Ruth joined Second Baptist Church where she has been a member for over 50 years. Ruth was a caring and giving sweet lady and devout believer in God and Jesus Christ, she read the bible every day.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and a sister. She is survived by her son, David L. Wright, grandson, William E. Wright and numerous nieces and nephews.
