

Wilma Dee Box wife of the late Dan Box was born on December 14th 1939. She is survived by brothers and their wives Ralph Colman and Laurie Skelton and Jack Lee and Bonnie Skelton, son Daniel Ray Box, daughter Laura Ellen Box, grandson A.J. Box and wife Samantha Jean Box and great grandson Hunter Daniel Box.
Wilma was a good and supporting wife, loving and forgiving mother and grandmother, She was a dotting and caring great grand mother. She was known by daughter Laura's teenage friends who spent a lot of time at the Box home as Momma Box. It was two decades later when son Daniel brought Wilma to union functions and rallies that she was called by Daniel's union friends and associates as Momma Box which pleased her to hear again.
Wilma had to enter the workforce in the 1980's after husband's heart condition kept him from long term employment and remained in the insurance industry for over 20 years. She was a long time care giver of her mother Nettie Skelton until her passing. She was a Church of Christ member, She was a Girl scout leader, home room mother and avid gardener of flowers and roses with her husband and son, She liked having dinner with friends and family, She was a good cook and like to shop at used book stores. Wilma like to sew and one of the things that gave her great joy was sewing good quality baby blankets for any women who were expecting a baby.
She was a graduate of Midland High school and earn certificates at San Jacinto college in the 80's, She was proud of her hard earned professional licenses and certifications in the insurance industry and was currently going to school to get a certificate of Computer literacy .
Wilma left behind many friends and family and left a mark on everybody she knew. Friends describe her as "sweet, kind, gentle hearted, a role model for women, A soul that never knew a stranger, Honored by her son and daughter, never showed outward anger and was a good friend."
Wilma left this world on March 31st 2014 to be with the Lord and family.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 5:30-8:30 P.M. at the Advantage Howard Glendale Funeral Chapel, 1015 Federal Rd. Houston, Texas 77015. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, evening, April 4th at 6:30 P.M. at Crosby Church of Christ, 1202 Church St. Crosby, Texas 77532. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday,April 8th at Houston National Cemetery at 11:00 A.M.
Arrangements are under the direction of Advantage Howard Glendale Funeral Chapel.
