Winnie Elizabeth Scott

Winnie was born to John and Sarah Carden on April 22, 1926 in Athens, Texas. She passed from this Earth on February 24, 2019. She was 92 years, 10 months and 2 days old. She was raised on a farm in Palestine, Texas, along with her seven siblings. As a young girl her favorite hobbies were playing baseball and fishing. She hit more homeruns than most of the boys. And, she could out fish them, as well. Most of her adult life she lived in Houston but moved to Magnolia in 1990, where she spent the remainder of her years. The occupations she most enjoyed were working in her mother’s café, being a homemaker and caregiver. Her hobbies and interest consisted of working crossword puzzles, reading Louis L’Amour books, watching westerns, watching her grandkids, and helping other people any way she could.

Husband: Earnest Lee Scott.

Parents: John and Sarah Carden.

Sisters: Ruthie and Frances.

Brothers: Seldon, Johnny Clifford (Brother), Wilber, Smith Cain (Spike) and Bobby Joe.

Survived by:

Daughters: Vicki Rife and Sondra King.

Son: Seldon Colvin (Buster).

Grandchildren: Lanie Hallmark, Kelly Wilke, Bubba Hickson, Misty Metcalf-Justice, Shawn King, JB King, Angela Bellows.

Great Grandchildren: Courtney Williams, Rachel Sanguedolce, Sydney Melton, Collin Melton, Cameron Melton, Ryan Hickson, Brandon Hickson, Mia Hickson, Jacy Metcalf, Emily Metcalf, Sadie Bellows, Reese King, Jax King.
