Winston, or as his sisters preferred “Breezy,” was the kindest, most generous and loving man, liked by everyone who knew him.
His sharp wit brought laughter to family, friends and coworkers. Winston graduated from Texas A&M University and spent much of his career at Schlumberger. He had a unique love of guitars and fossils, which he generously shared with family and friends.
Winston is preceded in death by his son, Winston Tyler Hey; his father, Winston Snowden Hey (Windy); his mother, Marie Johanna Ryken; and his sister, Charlene Ryken.
Winston is survived by his daughter, Haley Hey; his aunt, Yokey Knop; his nice sister Joanne Hey Smith, and husband Bert; brother Jim Hey; sister Linda Rivelis and husband Steven; sister Suzanne Ollry and husband Kevin; nephews and nieces Wade and Rose Moriarty, Matt and Liz Moriarty, Juli and Heath Rehfuss, Ginny and Brian Matthews, Chip and Elena Smith, Donna Smith, and Max and Ian Hey; and dear friends John and Gail Peterkin. Win is also survived by his former wife, Susan Peterkin Hey, whose love is never ending.
A celebration of life will be held at Hope Episcopal Church, 1613 W. 43rd St., on Saturday, September 10th at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Batten Disease Support and Research Association, https://bdsra.org/donate/ or to the charity of your choice.
Colonel Hey (Windy) said, “Breezy has arrived.”
He is released.
