Yi Ye, born on January 31, 1970, in China, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
For the past nine years, Yi faced his cancer diagnosis with remarkable courage and resilience. Throughout his journey, he remained a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew him, and now rests peacefully in the arms of the Lord.
Yi was kind, thoughtful, and humble, always ready to lend a helping hand. Behind his gentle presence was a deep sense of empathy and a steadfast commitment to truth. He was a devoted family man, a cherished friend, a brilliant engineer, and a kind soul taken from us far too soon.
His academic achievements reflected his dedication and love of learning. Yi earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanics from Peking University, a master’s in Applied Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. Professionally, he made significant contributions as a senior chemical engineer at DuPont and later at Dow Chemical in Houston, Texas. His work was a testament to his passion and integrity.
Yi’s greatest joy was his family. He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. He is survived by his beloved wife, Le; their sons, Brendan and Kevin; his mother, Jimei; and his brother, Xue.
Yi leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and integrity that will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known him.
A memorial service in honor of Yi will be held at 2:00 p.m. on September 20, 2025, at Christian New Hope Church, 7575 Alden Bridge Drive, The Woodlands, Texas 77382.
