Yvonne Comrie

Yvonne accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Edmond Kind, Henley Bernard and Hyacinth Edwards. Her love for the church and the Lord was evident through her work on various committees and events across the United Church of Jamaica. She served on several early childhood, all age and high school boards. She was a Justice of the Peace and cultural ambassador for her home parish of St. Elizabeth. She loved to cook, sing, act, dance, nurture her flowers and was a renowned emcee at a variety of church, school and wedding ceremonies. Yvonne never met a stranger.

The last chapter here on earth of Yvonne Comrie’s life was recorded on December 18, 2022 in Houston, TX. She is preceded in death by her father – Wilfred, mother – Eugenie, sister – Hope and brothers - Keith and Neil.

Yvonne was proud of her children, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren who were all very special to her. She was the consummate matriarch and heartbeat that kept the entire family in sync.

Yvonne was an extremely devoted wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She relished spending time with her family, friends and loved ones. There was never a dull moment spent with her. She leaves to cherish her memories and life’s work of service, husband Neville; sons Leon, Bernard, Hanif, Noel, Henley and Nevonne; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters, other family members and friends.
