    此時此刻，我的思緒飛回那遙遠的年代。60年前，在中国的南方广州市有一个小女孩诞生了。在父母的四个孩子中，她是老大，因为父亲长期在香港工作，她从小就担起了和妈妈一起做家务，照顾弟妹的责任，这让她早早成为了一个懂事，负责，贴心又独立的孩子。这个女孩，就是神给我命定的我未来的妻子- Yvonne。

我和Yvonne 相識於醫學院。她畢業后，当了大学老师，随夫移居美国後，
在德州大学修读了流行病学硕士学位，并在 City of Houston Health Department 工作，直至2018年退休。 我们共同孕育了一对善良独立的儿女，Carolyne 和Derek，我们夫婦为此而骄傲。在家里Yvonne是一位贤妻良母，她尊老爱幼，让孩子在充满爱的氛围里建立正确的人生观并健康地成长。她對我的關心無微不至。当我運動受伤了，她总是把家务都包揽在身，并对我照顾有加。家里的后花园更是她喜愛的地方，她在那种植了不同的蔬果和花卉。她经常就地取材，用一双巧手插出不同风格的花卉造型，令我们的家充满温馨而又格调高雅。Yvonne 也喜歡旅遊，每年我們都帶着兒女外出旅遊，共同享受大自然带給我們的快樂。

Yvonne 更是一位勇士，在疾病面前永不退缩。六年前她罹患了癌症，今年初肺癌复发，需要口服抗癌药。面对药物所带来的副作用，她勇敢顽强地默默地承受着，并以积极乐观的态度配合医生的治疗。Yvonne 是－位基督徒，她对我说，她的余生要向世人见证神的伟大。

At this moment, my mind travels back to a distant time. Sixty years ago, in the southern city of Guangzhou, China, a girl was born. She was the eldest among her parents' four children. Due to her father's absences while working in Hong Kong, she shouldered the responsibilities of helping her mother with household chores and raising her siblings from a tender age. She was molded into a responsible, caring, and independent child. This remarkable girl was the woman fate had destined for me - Yvonne.

Yvonne and I crossed paths in medical school. After graduation, she became a university teacher and moved to the United States many years later. Here, she earned a master's degree in epidemiology at the University of Texas and worked diligently at the City of Houston Health Department until her retirement in 2018. Together, we raised two wonderful and self-reliant children, Carolyne and Derek. Our family was a source of immense pride. At home, Yvonne embodied the virtues of a devoted wife and mother. She cherished the young and respected the elderly, cultivating an environment where our children developed values and grew wonderfully. Whenever I would come home injured after a long afternoon of sports, she would effortlessly manage the household chores while tending to my injuries. Our backyard was her sanctuary, adorned with arrays of vegetables and flowers she meticulously tended to. Her skillful hands frequently crafted floral arrangements from household materials, infusing our home with warmth and timeless elegance. Yvonne's love for travel led us on yearly adventures, basking in the joy that nature offered.

Yvonne was a warrior who never faltered in the face of illness. Six years ago, a cancer diagnosis challenged her, and earlier this year, lung cancer returned, necessitating oral chemotherapy. Confronting the side effects with unwavering bravery, she endured in silence, steadfastly following her doctor's guidance wit

Our Dai Je is a wonderful and brave woman who has immigrated to USA from China at the era when almost all Chinese are poor without much money.  She came to USA with her medical knowledge and talent as well as entrepreneur spirit.  She used her hands and mind to earn her living with labor work initially. Gradually she settled down in USA and became middle class doing white collar job not because of her family tie nor relationshipe but her knowledge and working hard attitude.  When she became affluent  the first thing she did was to apply siblings to come to USA. And help them to setle down there, because she believed that this was good for them.    When she was illed, she still thinked about family members including sibling,'s well being on top priority of her agenda until the last moment of breath.  She gave too much.  We all owe you a heart felt appreciation for all you did for us.   Thank you Dai Je.

You are always in our mind for your kindness, love and care which unleash towards every family members.  You spare no effort to take care siblings and help them to settle down in a new and strange environment when they newly emigrated to USA, amidst your hectic working schedule and core family commitments.  You drive us to USCIS and home security office to apply for immigrant documents and driving license, though we are quite scare to ride on your car, as your driving skill still has room for improvement and you are not good enough to locate strange areas and control the wheel concurrently.  But we greatly appreciate you for your kindness and love.  We miss you and we love you forever.
