

Zhenfu is survived by his wife Rulan Guo, his children Wei Gao, Shannon Gao, Xiang Gao,Daughter-in-law Beibei Hu Grandchildren Cheng Gao, Yan Gao, Yuan Gao. Zhenfu is also survived by his two sisters Yuying Gao, Yuqing Gao.
Zhenfu Gao is preceded in death by his parents Hongliang Gao and Lishi Gao, brother Zhenming Gao.
Zhenfu was loyal and kind, also modest and prudent throughout his life. In his more than 40 years of work, he was conscientious, diligent, and hardworking. When Zhenfu was only 18 years old, he was conscripted into Nanjing Military Region and became a glorious soldier. In the Army, he was diligent, studious and upright, he then was promoted from a squad leader to a regimental commander. Due to his outstanding professional ability Zhenfu was appointed to be both a ship captain and political commissar by military region after he graduated from “Tianjin Naval Academy”. For the sake of oil tanker transportation, as well as created a better life for his family, Zhenfu had been steering a 10,000-ton ship in the vast ocean for several decades and had successfully completed sea missions time and time again. Zhenfu was a person who loved life, he liked reading, photography, exercise, traveling, growing vegetables and raising flowers. The vegetable garden he took care of was always full of spring and fruits; The flowers he cultivated were also vying of beauty. Neighbors all praised him as “Green Fingers”. Zhenfu was person who was strict with himself and lenient with others.
Zhenfu was a loving husband, he used to say he wanted to be Rulan(his wife)’s husband again if he were to live the life twice. Zhenfu was devoted father and grandfather, he loved his family deeply. His children and grandchildren all looked up to him and are missing him day and night.
The family would like to thank to Houston Christian Assembly, Dr. Khawaja, Dr. Shen, Nurse Chu, and Virginia for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days. They would also like to thank friends that visited, made phone calls, and sent flowers and messages wishing Zhenfu a speedy recovery while he was in hospital.
Zhenfu will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his family and friends. He truly loved each of them. He will be missed dearly!
There will be a visitation held on Friday 11/08/2024 from 4:00-8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place on Saturday 11/09/2024 from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by burial. Guests are invited to join the family in the event room of Forest Park Westheimer for a reception immediately following the burial ceremony.
