

Zoila Imelda Espinoza de Flores, age 91, passed away quietly December 8, 2013 in Galveston, Tx. She was born December 18, 1921 in Cuenca, Ecuador to Jesus and Rosa Espinoza. She had a large family and was the last of 14 siblings. They had a home full of happiness and love. Zoila was loved by everyone who got to know her. She was married at the age of 23 and had eight children; 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren. She graduated from High School and was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Sugarland, Texas and the Ladies Club. Her hobbies and interests were sewing, crafts, singing, dancing, and whistling.
Zoila is preceded in death by her husband, Alberto Flores, son Fernando Flores, and 13 brothers and sisters. She is survived by five daughters, Cecilia, Maggie, Myriam, Zaido and Bivian; two sons, Alberto and Edmundo; grandchildren, Katherine, Edgar, Dyan, Juan A., Karla, Stephanie, Steve, Cynthia, Luly, Giovannie, Ernesto, Melissa, Christopher, Michael, Matthew, Gino, Leslie, James, Samantha and Jonathan; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Madeline, Gabriel, Vanessa, Ava, Juan Sebastian, Joshua, Kailyn, Isabella, Carolina, Riley, Johnathan, Sabrina, Issac, Giovannie, Angelita, Steven, Sara and Grayson. Special thanks to all the personnel at John Sealy Hospital at UTMB/Galveston for the wonderful care and compassion. The family greatly appreciates all the different prayer groups who added their support at this difficult time.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Vigil service at 7:00 pm at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am on Friday, December 13, 2013 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc, Houston, TX 77024. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery with Pallbearers, Alberto Flores, Edmundo Flores, Ramon Parada, Juan F. Corral, Juan A Corral, Raul Patino, Jonathan Andrade and Nicholas Patino.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Zoila’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
