Zoila Sanchez

Zoila Gloria Sanchez was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile and spirit brightened up the room. She cared so deeply for the people around her. She was so kind, loving, giving, funny and always put others before herself. She was a strong woman of faith. Zoila was full of life, she enjoyed music, dancing, outings to Coushatta, spending time with her family and gardening. She loved to decorate, Christmas was her favorite holiday. Even at the end she found a way to smile and laugh. She will be deeply missed.

She was born in Mexico to Hermenegildo and Maria Esther (Oviedo) Segura and passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 13, 2023 surrounded by her loving family; she was 81 years of age. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church and a Guadalupana.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Juan Sanchez; children, Gloria De Hoyos and husband, Frank; Juan Sanchez, Jr. and wife, Alma; Eric Sanchez and wife, Myrna and Gricelda Carrillo and husband, Felipe; 16 grandchildren, 2 great- grandchildren, 6 brothers and 2 sisters along with numerous other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her 3 brothers and 2 nieces.

Visitation will be held 4:00pm until 8:00pm, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 4136 Broadway, Houston, Texas 77087 with funeral services being held 10:00am, December 28, 2023 at the funeral home followed by burial at Houston National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be:

Eric Sanchez, Francisco De Hoyos Jr., Michael Mendoza, Alex Mendoza, Seth De Hoyos, Juan Sanchez III and Ezra Carrillo.
