There's an old saying "you can't pick your family, but you can pick your friends", and boy is that true, cause 70 years ago I saw you playing stoop ball in the park & on that day I made one of my best decisions, "I picked you to be my friend". Yes Prissy, 70 years of friendship - we've been through hell & back together, & we always did for each other. Yes Pris that's what friends are for. Well you're not here anymore, but let me tell you something, you will always be with me, you will never be forgotten, you are & always will be my oldest & dearest "Best Friend".

It looks like my first post never made it onto the website so hopefully I will have better luck this time. Aunt Penny, you will forever be in my thoughts and prayers. Your smile and special laugh was always a precious gift for anyone to behold. Your presence in my life gifted me with a childhood unparalled. You taught me how to walk to your house from school when I was 8 years old. It was also you who gave me my name in the hospital when I was born. The holidays have always had an emptiness to them since the familes lost contact, but the memories are fresh and every bit as sharp as they were when we either spending a holiday at your house enjoying your food or at College Point with Uncle Morty and Aunt Barbara, or just casual, me playing with Lisa while you and Uncle Gus talked with my mother and father till midnite over coffee and cake. Thank you so much for being a part of my life experience as a child. Our talks on Fillmore Ave still resonate. And I will always love your children. I have many pictures of you and will forward some of them to Russell and Lisa as soon as I go through them. But not all. I still want your face to grace the pages of my photo album which is my most cherished possesion because it reminds of moments where I had the most incredible family around me during a more simplier time. You're all gone now and you're all together...  In years time the cousins we make that same journey. And hopefully we can all enjoy one of your wonderful dinners... just like we all used to. I still can't believe that you are no longer here with us. In my mind and my heart you are still very much alive. I will forever cherish the memories that I have of the good times that we spent together. When I came into the family at age 71/2 you welcomed me with open arms immediately and you always made me feel like I always belonged there.  My growing up years were somewhat tough but you were always there to comfort me and explain.  You were so much more than an Aunt to me, you were like my mother.   You were my favorite and I have some many wonderful memories of our families being together.  No one else can make eggplant parmigiana like yours.
