Alexa Lorraine Robinson

Alexa Lorraine Goff Wiley Robinson, 93, of Modesto passed away March 3, 2019 from Alzheimer's. She was born in Modesto CA, graduating from Modesto High in 1943, attended UC Berkeley and MJC; receiving a degree in Chemistry at age 56. She married Robert W. Wiley in 1946 and Charles R Robinson in 1961.

Alexa worked as a Lab Tech for City of Modesto for 25 years. She belonged to the Modesto Color Camera Club; traveling with good friends Sam and Barbara Shaw to photo judgings; the Genealogical Society; preparing genealogy records for the family; and the Retired Public Employees Association. She enjoyed many luncheons with RPEA.

Alexa loved school continuing her education with MICL classes as a senior citizen. She had a lifelong passion for photography; prompting many stops of the car to jump out and take pictures. She was also a lifelong gardener, feeding her family with delicious vegetables and fruits from her backyard, both fresh and canned; put away for winter enjoyment. Alexa was always ahead of the trend; making her own food such as granola, yogurt and sprouts long before healthy eating became popular in our culture. Alexa embraced computer technology sharing her genealogy on line in the 80's and 90's, reaching out to distant cousins and making many friends along the way.

She had a lifelong passion for science, NASA. space exploration and reading. Alexa loved to travel encouraging others to enjoy State and National Parks. She only had good words to say and always wanted each of us to be happy. Mostly, Alexa was known for her kind heart and beautiful smile.

Alexa has five children. Jennifer Hutson and Jacquelyn Denley of Modesto; Robert Wiley of Palmdale CA; Roger Robinson 0f Reno NV and Zina Strait of Waterford CA; two step children, Gary Robinson and Cheryl Travis of Illinois; twelve grandchildren, Jim Hutson, John Hutson, Drue Denley, Shane Denley, Kimberly Brown, Amanda Caffey, Robbie Wiley, Alex Robinson, Julian Robinson. Samuel Strait, Kyle Strait and Jody Strait; seven step grandchildren, Doug Robinson, Donnie Robinson, Diane Williams, Darlene Rexroad, Dean Wessels, Dale Wessels, Andy Travis; many loving in-laws and several great grandchildren. Condolences may be sent to Lakewood Memorial Cemetery. Services are graveside, March 14th at one pm.
