Our beautiful Irish Rose, Alta Emily Victoria McLaughlin, was born on April 30, 1916 to Columbus and Mae McLaughlin in Palace, Missouri. She now has returned to her Maker. She lived a full, rich childhood and became the bride of her beloved Glenn White on May 1st, 1937. Upon marriage, they were led to the Golden Gates of California. Opportunity, adventure, travel; they prospered here and devoted life and time to their children; a daughter Gwendolyn and a son Michael, friends and family.
Alta was preceded in death by Glenn in 1974. Alta remained tireless with new friends and always the old friends. She loved having company from everywhere and she loved to travel anywhere. If there was sorrow, sickness or need, she was always the first to help with full devotion, a casserole or flowers. Alta had a smile that uplifted and blue eyes that did glow. She spent 99 years loving. She was a tireless worker and always excited with life. She is a charter member of Grace Community Church, where with her band of friends and family, she helped build that specific church. To her, all family and friends (old and new) were priceless. She wanted to see, to be; she wanted to do and she did.
Alta is survived by her 2 sisters Hazel (Joaquin) Wade and Shirley Parker, numerous nephews and nieces, a daughter Gwen (Charles) Reynolds, a son Michael (Karen) White, 4 grandchildren Chip, Eddie, Todd and Shawn and 8 great grandchildren.
