

Buck joined the U. S. Army in 1941 and trained at Fort Ord in the horse-drawn Field Artillery patrol. He was sent to Germany and fought in Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge in WWII until he came home in December, 1945 with honors.
He married May Lee Henderson in 1947 making concrete blocks for a living and had their first daughter. The family moved to CA in 1951 and lived and worked in Ceres, Manteca, Escalon until they settled in Riverbank, had a son and Buck started working at Norris Industries and Ralston Purina. In 1958 the family moved to the country outside Riverbank where he had a huge garden and enjoyed old time fiddling. He retired from Norris in 1980.
Buck had another daughter, Patsy Fern who passed away at birth. His wife May passed away in 2000 and Buck moved to Standiford Place in 2007 with his dog, Laci.
Buck is survived by his children, Shirley Stiffler and Richard Stiffler and wife Pamela, two grandchildren, Jessica Stiffler and Joshua Stiffler. His brother is Chester Stiffler, Tulare, CA. He is preceded in death by brother Earl Stiffler and sister Leota Burleson.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 13 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA.
