Carlos was born in Madera, California. He was 48 years old. He moved to Washington, where he began to build his own family; he had two sons, named Carlos Ruiz Jr. and Antonio Ruiz.
Carlos worked as a palm tree trimmer, as well as in road construction and home building. Carlos grew up in Ceres alongside his mother, Maria Medina Garcia; his stepfather, Jesus De la Cruz; his siblings—Oscar Medina Ruiz, Hernesto Medina de la Cruz, and Beronica Medina de la Cruz—and his adopted siblings: Dominique Medina de la Cruz, Demitrius Medina de la Cruz, Bobbie Medina de la Cruz, and Ricardo De Leon.
Carlos studied the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses for a short period of time; he deeply cherished what he learned and eagerly looked forward to the day when Jehovah would fulfill His promises.
