Carol Sue Gilbert, wife of Ronald T. Gilbert, passed Sunday, December 23, 2018, at the age of 85. Carol moved to California with her family from Caney, Kansas in 1945 and graduated from Empire Union Middle School in 1947. She gained many lifelong friends from working at Gallo Glass for 16 years. Poodle, as she was known by family, was the last surviving member of the Thorn family. She was known for her feisty spirit and perfect hair. Carol was preceded by her daughter Peggy, son Scott, and seven Thorn siblings. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 49 years, Ron, son Ricky Blocher (wife Sandy), daughter Terry Lightner (husband Danny), daughter Cheri Bettencourt (husband Frank), grandson Jacob Bunch, granddaughter Sheree Dunbarr, grandson Vance Miller and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family invites you to join them for funeral services that will be held January 8th, 2019 at 11:00 am at Lakewood Funeral Home 900 Santa Fe Ave. Hughson, Ca 95326. A celebration of life immediately following services.
