David "Dave" Irvin Newkirk

David Newkirk was born in Modesto, CA to Donald and Annabelle Newkirk. He lived in Ceres all of his life. “Dave”, as most people knew him, was a very caring man and he loved his family dearly. Dave worked at PG&E for 48 years where he almost forgot to retire. He loved hunting, fishing and traveling but mostly trying to catch Moby Dick…”The BIG Fish! He belonged to American Legion, Old Fisherman’s Club and Swiss Club. Dave is preceded in death by his dad Donald Newkirk, brother Gordon Newkirk, and son Michael. He is survived by his wife Diana, mother Annabelle, two sons John and Don, three stepchildren, Bill Millerick and DeAnn, Paula Hickman, Lori Borba and Alan, 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Our family would like to thank Community Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Dave. We would also like to thank his visiting nurse, Randy, who became a friend. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Lakewood Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Lakewood Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alexander Cohen Hospice House, 2201 Euclid Avenue, Hughson, CA 95326 or the American Cancer Society.
