Dennis and I met when he was 53....
I learned so much from you Dennis.
I will always love you!!

I was shocked and saddened when Lisa called to let me and Linda know about my friend Dennis’s passing. We have been friends for the last 25 or so years.  The last few years we have enjoyed his trips to visit us here in Idaho, and whenever I came to California I stayed with him. I stayed with him for a week last April, we laughed and talked as if I had never moved 15 years ago.
My Dad grew up in Oklahoma with horses and mules on the farm. In his later years I would bring him out to Dennis’s house so Dad could tell Dennis how “we used to do it “ and Dennis would bring Dad up to date on today’s horse breeding programs. I would just stand back and listen.  Each visit would provide my Dad hours of stories he could tell to every one he knew. Thank You, Dennis.
Linda and I will never forgot you and will always be thankful that we all could call each other “my friend”, as we spoke each other’s name.

I just thank God I got the opportunity to have you in my life! You taught me a lot! Had a blast with you and a lot of laughs! I’ll never forget your funny sayings you would always say.. when I was ever going though life problems you would always tell me to cowgirl up and keep going. I’ll never forget get you Uncle. Wish you didn’t have to leave us but I know you did what you loved to do till the very end! ❤️

To the family I am so sorry for your loss, I know you will miss Dennis so much. I have not seen Dennis in years but I have fond memories of him in our teen years. When I lived in Nevada we used to go hunting a lot together. I loved to be with Dennis when we could be together. Dennis used to hunt with a 12 gauge shotgun that was , I believe ,  as long as he was tall. The gun kicked so hard it would knock him down every time he shot it. However he would get back up and shoot it again. Lol those were the good ole days. We would always bring what we shot back home and cleaned it to eat. Dennis and his family would always bring us bread and flour. It was such a blessing to us then.

Lisa and Ashley my prayers for peace and comfort during this very difficult time. I have so many wonderful memories of Dennis. His  one liners, my nickname (P. Sue) the family dinners around the table, camping trips and the fun Halloween  parties just to name a few. Dennis and Vicki were a HUGE part of my teen years and I will always be thanks for them opening their home to me. I know he’s in Heaven now with no more back pain and riding his favorite horse Doc and doing all the things he’s missed doing. Lisa and Ashley, you both were his greatest accomplishment and I know he will forever be watching over you now as your personal guardian angel.
