Donald James Scranton

Donald James Scranton, age 87, of Hughson, CA passed away at Alexander-Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, CA.

Don was born to Irwin and Vivien Scranton on November 20, 1923. In 1943 after graduating High School he met Elizabeth "Betty", two weeks later he enlisted in The Navy and served for two years during World War II. In 1945 after being discharged from The Navy, he married Betty. The two returned to Hughson where they raised their two children, Terry and Randy.

Don provided for his family by owning and operating Scratch's Drive-In, working as a Carpenter, and finally Cannery Field Representative.

Don is survived by his son, Terry (Nancy) Scranton, daughter, Randy Fannon, three grandchildren, Jennifer (Tim) Herb, Jaime (Grant) Tyler, and Calvert Soares, also two great-grandchildren, Eli and Naomi Tyler. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Scranton.

A graveside will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Saturday, January 22 at 11:00 am. Guest book available at www.lakewoodhughson.com
